What you need

Pair your iPhone with your Mac

  1. Open the Cuff Agent menu bar app on your Mac and choose Pairing… to show a QR code.
  2. Open the Cuff app on your iPhone and scan the QR code.
  3. That’s it. Your Apple Watch gets its settings from the paired iPhone.

FAQ

Notifications aren’t arriving

Open the Cuff app on your iPhone once after pairing, and allow notifications when asked. This registers your iPhone for notifications. Also check that notifications for Cuff are turned on in iOS Settings, and that your Mac is awake with the menu bar app running.

What is the Live Activity?

While a job is running, Cuff shows its progress on the Lock Screen and in the Dynamic Island. It shows only the job’s status, never your request or the result. You can turn Live Activities off for Cuff in iOS Settings.

How do I manage or cancel my subscription?

Open iOS Settings, tap your name, then Subscriptions, and choose Cuff Pro. To avoid being charged for the next period, cancel at least 24 hours before it renews.

How do I restore my purchase?

In the Cuff app on your iPhone, open Settings, tap See Plans under Cuff Pro, then tap Restore Purchases, signed in with the same Apple Account you subscribed with.

How do I use Codex?

Codex support is in beta and off by default. To turn it on:

  1. Install the Codex CLI on your Mac and sign in, so that codex login status succeeds in Terminal.
  2. Open ~/.cuff/config.json and add "codex": { "enabled": true } at the top level.
  3. Restart the gateway: run launchctl kickstart -k gui/$(id -u)/com.cuff.gateway.app in Terminal.

Then start a request with “Ask Codex to…”. Requests go to Claude Code unless you name Codex.

Where is my data?

On your own Mac. See the Privacy Policy.
